In the Menderes district of Izmir, 16-year-old Balımnaz Türkkal and her 21-year-old sister Nergiz Türkkal died in a car swept away by floodwaters, while the other person in the vehicle fled. It was learned that the individual was wanted for three crimes, and teams have started working to apprehend them.
Two brothers lost their lives in a car swept away by floodwaters in the Menderes district of İzmir. Extensive search efforts are ongoing for the fugitive T.D.
THE VEHICLE WAS SWEPT AWAY BY FLOODWATERS
The car, which contained Balımnaz Türkkal, her sister Nergiz Türkkal, D.Y., and T.D., was reportedly swept away by floodwaters while crossing a bridge over a stream on Kısık Sanayi Road in the Oğlananası neighborhood of Menderes. D.Y. and T.D. managed to escape from the car, which was carried away by the floodwaters.
SISTERS LOST THEIR LIVES
While D.Y. was taken into custody, T.D. fled. Following a tip-off, the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command Underwater Search and Rescue Team and AFAD teams were dispatched to the area. In the search and rescue efforts, which also involved trained dogs, the lifeless bodies of Balımnaz Türkkal and her sister Nergiz Türkkal were found. The Türkkal sisters were laid to rest in Hacılarkırı Cemetery. Meanwhile, it was learned that Balım Türkkal had been making videos on social media.
FLED TO AVOID CAPTURE
It was also noted that D.Y. and T.D. had numerous criminal records, and T.D. was wanted for three different crimes. Gendarmerie teams conducting a wide-ranging investigation in the area where the car was found are continuing their efforts to locate the fugitive T.D.
