It was determined that Hasan Kalkan, who hit Dilek Öz and her daughter Ercin Öz with his taxi while they were walking on the sidewalk in Konya, causing their deaths, had run a red light before the accident and reached a speed of 112 kilometers per hour on a road with a 60 kilometer speed limit.
While walking on the sidewalk in the Karatay district of Konya, mother Dilek Öz and her daughter Ecrin Öz lost their lives at the scene when a taxi hit them. TAXI HIT THEM ON THE SIDEWALK
The terrible accident occurred on July 15 at around 12:00 on Fetih Street in the Karatay district. The taxi with license plate 42 TT 154, driven by Hasan Kalkan, went out of the driver's control, hitting Dilek Öz and her daughter Ecrin Öz who were walking on the sidewalk, and then crashing into a parked car.

Upon reports from those around, many police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. During checks by medical personnel, it was determined that the unfortunate mother and her daughter had died at the scene. The injured driver, Hasan Kalkan, was taken to the hospital by ambulance and received treatment.

DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL, SENT TO PRISON
Driver Hasan Kalkan, whose hospital treatment was completed and who was discharged on Friday, July 24, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station. Kalkan was arrested by the judgeship on charges of "causing death and injury by conscious negligence" and sent to prison.

In the expert report prepared as part of the investigation, taxi driver Hasan Kalkan was found primarily at fault. It was determined that the mother and daughter who lost their lives while walking on the sidewalk had no fault at all. The report found that Kalkan, who was traveling at 112 kilometers per hour on the street with a 60 kilometers per hour speed limit, also ran a red light before the accident. Whether the driver, determined to be alcohol-free, used drugs will be clarified after the blood analysis.
