Footage captured in traffic in Izmir's Ayrancılar area left Hollywood action movie scenes behind. When individuals carrying money in sacks dropped one of the sacks onto the road, thousands of liras scattered across the middle of the traffic.
GREAT PANIC AND 'MONEY RAIN' IN TRAFFIC
In the images reflected on the mobile phone camera of a citizen passing by at the moment of the incident, great panic is visible. In the video, money scattered in all directions of the road, between vehicles, and along the curb edges, also influenced by the wind, draws attention.
The images capture, moment by moment, a man in a white shirt frantically trying to fill a white plastic bag with banknotes scattered on the road. This person, chasing after the money without heeding the flowing traffic and large vehicles (trucks/TIRs) around, is soon joined by another individual in dark clothing who comes to help. The duo's great struggle to save the money flying in the wind is clearly reflected on camera.
AMOUNT LOST UNKNOWN
Despite all the efforts of the individuals, it is estimated that some of the money flew away or got stuck under vehicles due to the wind and traffic. The total amount of money scattered on the road and how much money was lost after this unusual incident are still unknown.
These moments, astonishing to onlookers, also provided other drivers in traffic with interesting and unforgettable moments.
