Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, reinstated as the Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP) by a court decision, spoke for the first time after Özgür Özel and 90 parliament members resigned to form a 'New Party'. Addressing party members in Istanbul, Kılıçdaroğlu said about the separation process: "Thank God, the purification has largely taken place."
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who regained the CHP Chairmanship with a "nullity" decision, attended a membership ceremony organized by the CHP Istanbul Provincial Directorate.
Kılıçdaroğlu's agenda included Özgür Özel and 90 accompanying deputies resigning from the Republican People's Party to form a new political movement. Emphasizing the need to avoid internal debates, Kılıçdaroğlu gave the message to party members: "We should not engage in discussions unless necessary."
"WE WILL NOT BE IN LUXURY NEIGHBORHOODS, BUT BESIDE THE PEOPLE"
Stressing that Turkey is not being governed well, Kılıçdaroğlu called on party members to take to the field and continued his speech with the following words:
"I am addressing all CHP members. The reason is this: Turkey is not being governed well. We will go neighborhood by neighborhood, door to door to explain rights, law, and justice. Yesterday, I visited workers who have been coming to Ankara for years to work in agriculture. Have you seen any politician caring about these people? We must be with them, not in luxury neighborhoods. Our name is clear: we are the people's party. We are the party that founded the state. We are the Republican People's Party. So, go."
"THOSE WHO ENGAGE IN CORRUPTION SHOULD LEAVE THE PARTY"
In his speech, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that the real agenda of Turkey should be focused on and drew attention to the problems of young people and internal party discipline:
"We have millions of unemployed young people. Go see how young people are being robbed. This is the fundamental disgrace of the government. No Republican People's Party member can stand alongside those who commit corruption. If you want to engage in corruption, you must leave the party immediately."
"THANKFULLY, PURIFICATION HAS TAKEN PLACE"
Sharing his message about the New Party, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "The Republican People's Party is a party that must undergo purification. Thankfully, that has largely happened."
