Minister Gurlek announced: New bureau is being established in courthouses

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that "Bureaus for the Efficiency of Judicial Services" will be established in courthouses in order to ensure faster, more effective, and efficient execution of judicial services, facilitate citizens' access to justice, and strengthen the right to trial within a reasonable time.

Minister Gürlek announced that Efficiency of Judicial Services Offices will be established within the structure of first instance criminal courts and the justice commissions of regional courts of appeal and regional administrative courts, also covering affiliated courthouses (courthouses without heavy penal courts).

CITIZENS' PROBLEMS WILL BE CLOSELY MONITORED

In a post on his social media account, Minister Gürlek made evaluations regarding the new practice to be implemented in line with the goals in the Judicial Reform Strategy Document.

Minister Gürlek stated that the Efficiency of Judicial Services Offices to be established will ensure close monitoring of delays and implementation-related problems citizens encounter in judicial processes, and noted that the local institutional infrastructure of the Alo Justice Hotline, preparations for which are ongoing, will also be established through these offices.

CASE HEARING AND WAITING TIMES WILL BE ANALYZED

Gürlek noted that requests will be examined in these offices and applicants will be informed about the process. Gürlek stated that the average case hearing and waiting times of courts and chief public prosecutor's offices, as well as their compliance rates with target times, will be regularly monitored, and the obtained data will be analyzed and reported.

Stating that problems experienced in judicial services will be identified on-site, Gürlek expressed that solution-oriented work will be carried out in line with the opinions of courts and chief public prosecutor's offices.

PREVENTION OF RECURRENCE OF PROBLEMS IS AIMED

Emphasizing that the offices will not only contribute to solving identified problems but also allow for the evaluation of disputes brought to the judiciary and incidents causing crime, Gürlek stated that joint efforts will be carried out with relevant institutions to prevent the recurrence of similar problems.

Minister Gürlek expressed that under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reforms will be resolutely continued for an accessible, reliable, and effective justice system that puts people at the center, in line with the goal of making Turkey's Century the "Century of Justice".
