The leader of the main opposition party in Israel, Yair Lapid, called for the ground invasion of southern Lebanon. Stating that a "buffer zone" should be established in southern Lebanon, Lapid said, "If this requires entering Lebanon, we must enter Lebanon."
The leader of Israel's main opposition party Yesh Atid, Yair Lapid, stated after his visit to the Israel-Lebanon border that he wanted the south of Lebanon to be occupied to protect the settlements in northern Israel.
"IF WE NEED TO ENTER LEBANON, WE MUST ENTER" Supporting the Israeli army's decision to expand the ground occupation in southern Lebanon under the pretext of increasing tensions with Hezbollah, Lapid said, "As long as Hezbollah remains beyond the border, there will be no security for (the northern Israeli settlements)."

Yair Lapid ISRAEL HAD DECIDED TO EXPAND THE OCCUPATION After the joint attack conducted by the US and Israel on February 28, which resulted in the death of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, Lebanese Hezbollah retaliated by launching missile and rocket attacks against Israel, participating in Iran's reprisals.
In response, Israel had carried out extensive airstrikes across Lebanon, particularly in the capital Beirut. Recently, Israel announced that it had decided to expand its ground occupation in southern Lebanon, citing the increasing tensions with Hezbollah as justification.
