Due to the requests of those who were expelled from high-cost departments such as medicine and dentistry for reasons like health and family situations, a study has been initiated to enable them to return to university. It is aimed to make a legal regulation based on the results of the impact analysis study.

STUDENTS PROTESTED IN PARLIAMENT

A group of students expelled from the medical and dental faculties of universities for various reasons visited political parties in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) some time ago. The students, who also held discussions with the AK Party Group, expressed their desire to return to university and requested the enactment of a law.

WORK HAS BEEN INITIATED

Upon the students explaining that they had to leave their education due to health or family issues, a directive was given to the Ministry of National Education to conduct an impact analysis to determine how many people are in this situation and how many individuals left which departments of universities in which years. Following this, an impact analysis study was initiated at YÖK.

Based on the results of the impact analysis, it is anticipated that a legislative proposal will be prepared to allow those who have been expelled from universities to return to education.

1200 MEDICAL STUDENTS WILL BENEFIT

It is stated that approximately 1200 students studying in medical faculties are expected to benefit from the legislative proposal, which is anticipated to come to the agenda of the Parliament after the New Year.
