While the integration of the SDF into the army in Syria has turned into a long story, a notable move came from Turkey. Ünsal Hayal, the head of the Special Operations Department of the General Directorate of Security, went to Syria to inspect the security points across the border and to observe the current situation on the ground.
After the terrorist organization YPG/SDG in Syria insisted on its integration with Damascus and did not comply with the March 10 agreement, attention turned to the moves that Ankara and Damascus would make. While it was mentioned that Turkey and Syria were preparing for operations, a noteworthy visit took place. Special Operations Chief Ünsal Hayal visited the base areas located in Syria.
Hayal visited the base areas stationed in Syria one by one and met with the personnel serving there.
OPERATIONAL STATUS AND WORKING CONDITIONS EVALUATED
The official statement regarding the visit was shared with the public through the social media accounts of the Special Operations Presidency.
In the statement, details regarding the scope of President Hayal's visit were provided. It was noted that the working conditions of the personnel serving under challenging conditions in the region were examined on-site, and comprehensive evaluations were made regarding the activities carried out.
COMPREHENSIVE EXCHANGE OF VIEWS ON THE FIELD
The statement made by the presidency included the following expressions:
"Our Special Operations Chief Mr. Ünsal Hayal has visited the base areas located in Syria. During the visit, evaluations were made regarding the working conditions of the personnel serving in the region, the operational status, and the activities carried out; a comprehensive exchange of views on the field situation was conducted."
It was noted that the visit was important for monitoring security strategies in the region and for the motivation of the personnel.
