Turkey's First Unique Design Infantry Rifle Produced

Turkish first infantry gun was produced by Turkish private weapon producer company "Sarsılmaz Silah Sanayi".

Turkish first infantry gun was produced by Turkish private weapon producer company "Sarsılmaz Silah Sanayi". Company CEO Latif Aral Aliş says that the rifle is unique and whole fragments of the rifle had been designed and produced in Turkey.



Turkish first unique-designed infantry guns SAR 223 and machine gun TE54 were made public in a meeting which was held in Istanbul's Çıragan Palace. Turkish media showed huge interest to publicity of the guns. Latif Aral Alis, CEO of the producer company "Sarsilmaz Silah Sanayi" made a statement regarding the guns at the launching ceremony.



"We didn't produce the rifle alone. TUBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research of Turkey) and Middle East University have great contribution in production. It is the result of serious scientific work. As a company we had analyzed more than two hundred people's hand structure from all around Turkey before designing grip of the rifle. It was just for finding the most ergonomic structure for the grip." said CEO Aliş.



The company secured with five patents the rifle to avoid copying. Conceptualizing of the project and designing issues took two years. Company started the production of SAR223 in 2013 and started mass production from the beginning of May.
