Berat Ç. (23), who was sitting in his car in Kağıthane, was attacked with a firearm by a suspect who got into his vehicle. His mother, seeing her son being placed on a stretcher while first aid was being administered at the scene, had a nervous breakdown, shouting 'Who shot him?' The Kağıthane Public Order Bureau teams, who launched an investigation into the incident, identified the suspect as Serhat E. (23) and apprehended him. It was learned that the suspect, who was referred to the courthouse, said in his statement, 'My fiancée Tuana T. and I called off the engagement because we couldn't get along. I didn't know Tuana T. was with Berat Ç. I found out that she was in a relationship with Berat Ç. after she broke up with her ex-fiancé.' Meanwhile, cell phone footage of the incident has emerged.
GOT INTO HIS CAR AND SPRAYED BULLETS
The incident occurred in Çağlayan Neighborhood on Monday, August 24, 2025, at around 16:00. According to information obtained, Berat Ç., who was in his car, was attacked with a firearm by a suspect who got into his vehicle. Berat Ç., who was wounded by bullets hitting his body, was taken to the hospital after initial intervention by health teams who arrived at the scene upon notification.
IDENTITY DETERMINED
Following the incident, the Kağıthane Public Order Bureau teams began examining the security camera footage in the area. The teams determined that the assailant fled the scene after the incident by getting into a light commercial vehicle in front of a gas station in Çağlayan Neighborhood. Tracking the footage backwards, the teams identified that the assailant had gotten into Berat Ç.'s car before the incident and passed through different points in the neighborhood. Investigations revealed that the assailant was Serhat E.
THE SHOOTER HAD 9, THE VICTIM HAD 5 CRIMINAL RECORDS
Serhat E., who was caught in an operation organized by police teams, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station. Serhat E. was arrested by the court on charges of 'Attempted intentional homicide' and sent to prison. It was learned that Serhat E. had 9 criminal records at the police, including 'Drug use', 'Intentional injury', and 'Violation of firearms law'. Berat Ç. was reported to have a total of 5 records for crimes including 'Drug trafficking', 'Drug use', and 'Intentional injury'.
THE MOTIVE EMERGED

I have nothing to do with the shooting of the person named Berat Ç. on the day of the incident. I learned from the neighborhood that Berat was shot. I don't know who shot Berat.'

Meanwhile, footage of the incident has emerged. In the recordings taken after the incident, a woman is seen shouting and crying 'Who shot him?' while Berat Ç. was being treated on a stretcher. The security camera footage also shows the assailant fleeing by getting into a light commercial vehicle in front of a gas station, as well as him getting into Berat Ç.'s car before the incident and passing through different points in the neighborhood.
