Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı, who was appointed as the Deputy Minister of the Interior by the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, made her first statement. Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı said, "May God grant us the ability to fulfill our duties properly and may the prayers of our nation never be lacking from us." Yiğitbaşı was appointed as the first headscarf-wearing governor of Turkey in 2022, serving as the Governor of Afyonkarahisar.
With the decree published under the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, there have been changes in the deputy ministers of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior.
3 DEPUTY MINISTERS CHANGED IN THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR While 4 deputy ministers changed in the Ministry of Justice, there were also changes in the deputy ministers of the Ministry of Interior. According to the published decree, Ali Çelik, Mehmet Cangir, and Afyonkarahisar Governor Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı were appointed instead of the Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of Interior, Münir Karaloğlu, Mehmet Aktaş, and Mehmet Sağlam.
SHE WAS THE FIRST HEADSCARVED GOVERNOR Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı was appointed as the first headscarf-wearing governor of Turkey in 2022 for the Governorship of Afyonkarahisar.

WHO IS KÜBRA GÜRAN YİĞİTBAŞI? She was born in 1979 in Ankara. After completing her undergraduate education in the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema at Ankara University Faculty of Communication, she conducted a study on "The Effect of Father Absence on Children" in the Department of Applied Psychology at Istanbul Commerce University. She completed her doctorate with her thesis titled "Political Message Design in the Persuasive Communication Process" in the Department of Journalism at Marmara University Faculty of Communication.
She has served as a research assistant and Dr. faculty member in the Department of Journalism at Marmara University Faculty of Communication. She has taught courses such as Investigative Journalism, Media and Civil Society, Children's Publishing, Creative Writing Workshop, Communication Ethics, Media and Children at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has held administrative positions such as Assistant Dean, Faculty Management Board and Faculty Council membership, Department Chair, and Corporate Communication Coordinator within the university. The documentary titled "The Resistance of Hearts," which addresses the role of women in the fight against the July 15 coup attempt, was screened at the Boğaziçi Film Festival and broadcasted on TRT.
She is the author of the book titled Children's Publications and Opening to the Outside World. In 2019, she was appointed as a representative of the Press Advertisement Institution General Assembly. Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı, who is married and a mother of 3 children, was assigned as the Deputy Minister of Interior with the decree published in the Official Gazette.
