THEY THOUGHT IT WAS AN EARTHQUAKE AND RUSHED INTO THE STREET
The incident occurred on Kuyumcu İrfan Street in the Halaskargazi neighborhood around 5:00 PM. According to information obtained, the exterior wall of an apartment on the 3rd floor of a 6-story building, whose adjacent building had been demolished earlier, suddenly collapsed for an undetermined reason. The neighborhood was shaken by the loud noise, causing widespread panic, and those nearby immediately notified fire, police, and municipal teams. Upon arriving at the scene following the report, the teams took security precautions and filed a report.
THE 97-YEAR-OLD WOMAN WAS AT HER SUMMER HOUSE
Fortunately, no one was killed or injured, but the apartment with the collapsed wall suffered significant material damage. The fact that a 97-year-old woman who lived alone in the apartment was at her summer house during the incident prevented potential injury or loss of life.

Witness Ceylan Ceylan, who stated that they heard the noise and ran outside thinking it was an earthquake, reacted to the negligence. Ceylan, who works at a neighboring business, described the incident as follows:
"When there was a very loud noise all of a sudden while it was raining, we thought an earthquake was happening and we ran toward the back. It turned out that the wall/balcony of the next building had collapsed; the falling debris and iron also damaged the walls of the room we were in. Normally, people live in the building, but the 97-year-old lady in the apartment with the collapsed wall happened to be at her summer house. People on other floors also panicked and came down saying 'there's an earthquake.'
The people who demolished the neighboring building previously said, 'If we cause any minor damage, we'll fix it right away,' but after the demolition, no one has been around for 3-4 months. Many people here are currently victimized."
