Security camera footage has emerged regarding the tragic incident that led to the death of an 8-year-old child at a private rehabilitation center in the Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır. The moments when a 22-year-old individual diagnosed with autism pushed the young child, causing him to hit a chair, have been added to the investigation file as evidence.
CHILD WHO HIT THE CHAIR COULD NOT BE SAVED
The incident occurred about a month ago at a private rehabilitation center in the Kayapınar district. According to the information obtained, A.R., a 22-year-old diagnosed with autism who was receiving education at the center, removed 8-year-old Ç.Y., who was sitting in a chair, and pushed him when he wanted to sit down. Due to the force of the push, little Ç.Y. lost his balance and hit his head heavily against the chair; despite all medical interventions at the hospital where he was taken, he could not be saved and lost his life.

The security camera recordings of the incident have been included in the investigation file being conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The footage shows, second by second, the moments when 22-year-old A.R. pushed the 8-year-old child.
22-YEAR-OLD YOUNG MAN TRANSFERRED TO ELAZIĞ
Within the scope of the investigation, A.R., diagnosed with autism, was transferred to Elazığ Mental Health and Diseases Hospital to determine whether he has criminal liability. It was learned that the judicial proceedings will take direction according to the health board report to be issued.
STAFF AND BUSINESS NEGLIGENCE UNDER REVIEW
Officials from the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reported that the judicial and administrative investigation is being conducted from multiple angles. Within the scope of the investigation;
- whether the private rehabilitation center took the necessary security and surveillance measures,
- whether the institution's staff were negligent,
- whether legal obligations for the protection of children were fulfilled
It was stated that these matters are being meticulously examined.
