The foundation established by Meral Akşener, the founding chairperson of the İYİ Party, who has been leading a reclusive life since leaving active politics, has officially become operational. Founded with a capital of 5 million Turkish lira, the foundation will operate in many areas including education, health, social and cultural studies, and environmental projects. In the event of the foundation's liquidation, all its assets will be left to the Mehmetçik Foundation.
Meral Akşener, the Founding Chairperson of the İYİ Party who left active politics and leads a secluded life, is returning to the scene in a completely different field this time.
“MERAL AKŞENER FOUNDATION” ESTABLISHED
The 'Meral Akşener Foundation,' founded by Akşener, was officially registered with an announcement published in the Official Gazette. The establishment of the foundation, which will operate based in Istanbul, was finalized by the decision of the Istanbul Anatolia 34th Civil Court of First Instance.
WILL CARRY OUT PROJECTS FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT
According to the announcement published by the General Directorate of Foundations of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the foundation aims to develop projects for public benefit in the fields of education, health, social, cultural, and environmental areas. Additionally, conducting research and examination activities, assisting those in need, and realizing the objectives stated in the foundation deed are among its fields of activity.
5 MILLION TL CAPITAL
According to official records, an initial asset of 5 million TL in cash capital was allocated for the foundation's establishment. The management team includes founder Meral Akşener, along with Akşener's former Head of Private Office Esma Bekar and her son Fatih Akşener.
ASSETS TO BE TRANSFERRED TO MEHMETÇİK FOUNDATION IF ACTIVITIES CEASE
According to the provision in the foundation deed, if activities are terminated for any reason, after the liquidation of debts and obligations, all remaining assets and rights will be transferred to the Mehmetçik Foundation. This regulation is explicitly included in the foundation deed.
